Carlson Garcia is a collective effort by artists Maxwell Carlson and Esteban García Bravo to create a unique display of paradoxical shapes. We explore designs that evoke multiple retinal interpretations of space that question constructs of shape perception. Our aesthetic is influenced by lyrical geometric abstraction of the twentieth century, while incorporating new technologies for design and fabrication. Since 2011, we have collaborated constructing interactive installations and manufacturing “digital objects” through an exploratory studio practice.
